What are the benefits of renting under the Section 8 Program?
For another, the program paves the way for a steady landlord-tenant relationship. Apart from conducting regular inspections on the rented houses, the county housing agency also imposes certain constraints on the proprietors' behaviors:
- Landlords cannot raise the rents unless authorized by the office. Staff of the agency carries out a "rent reasonableness determination" to decide whether the rent rise is rational;
- Landlords are not allowed to bring the rents above the market price in the area.
